Cookie notice
Last updated:
Short version: we do not use cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking, so we do not show a cookie banner. The only cookies that may be set are strictly necessary security cookies from our hosting provider, Cloudflare.
Cookies on this site
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Bot protection: helps Cloudflare tell people from automated traffic. Strictly necessary; it is not used for tracking or advertising. | 30 minutes |
cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Security: records that your browser has passed a Cloudflare security check, so you are not asked again. Strictly necessary; it is not used for tracking or advertising. | 30 minutes by default |
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly necessary cookies do not need consent. Cloudflare only sets these cookies when its bot protection or a security check is active for a request, so you may not see them at all. See Cloudflare's cookie documentation for details.
Analytics without cookies
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. A small script reads basic, non-identifying information from your browser (such as page load timing and screen size) to produce aggregated statistics that help us improve the site. It does not set cookies or use local storage, and Cloudflare states that it does not fingerprint your browser. If you do not want to be counted, you can block requests to static.cloudflareinsights.com with a content blocker; the site works the same either way. See our privacy notice.
Your theme choice
If you use the light/dark switch in the header, your browser remembers your choice in its local storage under the key theme, with the value light or dark. It never leaves your device and is only stored because you asked for it. If you never use the switch, nothing is stored. You can clear it at any time through your browser's site data settings.
Fonts and other content
All fonts and images are served from our own domain. We do not embed third-party content such as videos or social media posts, which could set their own cookies.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the Cloudflare security cookie may mean you are asked to complete a security check more often.
